The Orb Factory, a locally owned and operated company in Halifax, NS, that designs and distributes childrens’ educational toys, is looking for an Office Assistant in a permanent position. We have a relaxed office environment but high energy level and welcome input into the product development. We are growing very quickly and there will be room for internal growth within the company for the right candidate.
Position Summary:
As the successful candidate, you will play a key role in the completion of a variety of office and sales administration, accounts payable and support tasks. Your responsibility will include bank deposits, answering phones, arranging shipping documentation, booking sales trips, filing, customer mail outs, organizing photo shoots and other sales and administrative duties as required.
As the ideal candidate, you have a post secondary education from a college with a concentration in accounting / office administration, along with entry-level experience in an office setting. You are a motivated and enthusiastic individual who has excellent organizational and time management skills. You work well within a team environment but enjoy having your own areas of responsibility. You are looking for a small company where you can gain experience in all areas and learn how to apply everything you learned in class. Familiarity with Excel and Mac computers and a valid drivers license would be assets for this position. Wage expectation is $9.00 per hour.
