The Role:
Brand Managers are responsible for ensuring that the products, services and product lines that fall under their domain resonate with current and potential customers. To do so, these professionals continuously monitor marketing trends and keep a close eye on competitive products in the marketplace. They also regularly meet with clients and senior management, and they oversee a team of junior marketers. Working under the Brand Director, Brand Managers serve as the point-person for developing, implementing and executing marketing initiatives and activities for their particular brand. These initiatives and activities include campaigns (print, web, social media, broadcast, etc.), events, corporate responsibility programs and sponsorships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • responsible for the full lifecycle of a brand
  • creating a brand brief (1 page), that reveals the vision of the brand, used to inform all brand asset management
  • track store sell through and uses this information to make decisions on marketing
  • monitor consumer reactions through focus groups and market research
  • work with the marketing team to plan large sales shows and PR opportunities 
  • handle all requests from sales for marketing collateral- banners, flyers, presentations, etc to ensure sales materials reflect the desired information for the brand
  • oversee the production of TV ads, print ads, email campaigns, websites, and trade shows
  • approve marketing copy
  • consulted on product design
  • generate names for new products
  • works with designers on brand messaging
  • final sign-off on all assets used for the brand including packaging to ensure brand integrity
  • coordinate customer specific displays for retail
  • identify website design and work with necessary parties to execute/ coordinate updating the websites accordingly
  • provide direction and feedback on social media campaigns 
  • understand the competitive marketplace by conducting continuous research, monitoring market trends and identifying potential areas in which to invest, based upon consumer needs and spending habits
  • understand all exclusive programs being sold into retail
  • in-depth understanding of the company’s current and future product concepts

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor degree in Marketing, or equivalent

3+ Years of experience in consumer goods branding/ marketing

Graphic Designer

In this position an individual will create various print, digital, and social media marketing materials. This position requires technical expertise in Adobe Creative Suites and other software. This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working under the guidance of ORB’s Brand Managers, create graphic illustrations utilizing Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop 
  • Create unique and engaging designs with a sense of child-like cuteness, humor and fun
  • Familiar with UI/ UX design 
  • Create wireframes/ mockups for website to guide web developer 
  • Good understanding of layout and composition; high level of proficiency in Adobe InDesign
  • Prepare print ready art files for flyers, posters signs, presentation, etc.
  • Maintain a consistent design style within specific various brands
  • Execute on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Maintain a well-organized system for retrieval of information and data
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Design or Graphic Design or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience in graphic design required
  • Must be experienced and highly technical in using Adobe Creative Suites using Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier) and other software
  • Experience with studio photography an asset

Content Manager

The Role:
This person is responsible for Consumer Graphics organization and creation. The candidate will also be responsible for uploading images and text to our customer's back-end web portals and content management systems. This person will work with the Brand Managers to ensure all images and information are up to date and meet the required customer specs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage image / content requests from ORB’s customers
  • Create consumer graphics images and prepare images for upload
  • Upload images to multiple customer web portals / back end image submission / CMS systems
  • Input product information across multiple customers
  • Ensure each Individual product has the correct information (Registration, Trade Mark, Item Code, Legals ,etc.)
  • Continuous update of consumer graphics
  • Responsible for asset organization and image quality control
  • Must be able to manage multiple CMS interfaces
  • Proof reading documents
  • Follow a strict naming convention, identifying and correcting errors in convention

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1+ Years Experience in CMS management systems or equivalent work
  • High attention to detail 
  • Ability to manage several tasks at a time at a very fast pace
  • Ability to do repetitive tasks with high accuracy 
  • Ability to manage multiple data sets and images
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Very good English grammar, punctuation and spelling, high attention to detail
  • Excel in organizational and time-management skills
  • Visual design skills an asset
  • Customer Service experience an asset
  • Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite an asset

Market Researcher

The Role:
This person is responsible for researching market trends on Social Media, YouTube, in store, in Japan, and through direct end consumer focus groups. By successfully identifying major future trends before they obtain mass market status in North America and internationally, the Market Researcher will help ORB™ be prepared to provide consumers with the products they want to buy. The Market Researcher will be guided by a team of Brand Managers, and will report directly to the Brand Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect data on consumers, competitors and market place
  • Consolidate research information into actionable items, reports, and presentations
  • Understand business objectives and design surveys to discover prospective customers’ preferences
  • Analyze customer sales information to identify sales opportunities 
  • Evaluate Inventory at retail including in stocks, weeks supply with recommendations for improving
  • Compile and analyze statistical data using modern and traditional methods to collect
  • Perform valid and reliable market research SWOT analysis
  • Interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendation
  • Use online market research and catalogue findings to database
  • Provide competitive analysis on various companies’ market offerings, identify market trends, pricing/business models, sales and methods of operation
  • Remain fully informed on market trends, other parties researches and implement best practices

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven market research analysis experience
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of data and to multi-task
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS or similar), databases and MS Office
  • Search engines, web analytics and business research tools acumen
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management programs

Director of Operations

KEY MISSIONS:

  • Responsible for developing and executing on a supply chain strategy.
  • Development and management of key performance indicators covering the flow of components and finished goods.
  • Lead cross-functional effort to align supply and production plans with sales forecast and Orb operational objectives.
  • Proactively identify risk and develop contingency plans to address potential supply disruptions or poor performance.

  • Maintaining timelines on flow of components and finished goods relative to plan.
  • Ensuring relevant operational issues addressed at leadership level.
  • Operating collaboratively across functions based on customer requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS PROFILE:

  • Seven to ten years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. Graduate level degree in required field is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Toy industry or FMCG preferred.
